Jimmy Thunderhill is an indigenous American volcanologist with a talent for invention. He’s got a robot that is becoming sentient, and a hydrogen vehicle he fuels with water. Recalled from his travels back to Yellowstone because the caldera’s activity has been changing in ways that only his old boss and crew seem concerned with. Jimmy and his sidekick may be able to give them the prediction needed to get a warning out in time to save lives. But before he realizes the urgency of the situation, he is distracted by a beautiful woman, who may in turn be the answer to their ultimate survival. Meanwhile political powers work to downplay and undermine any such warning getting out at all, for the potential chaos it would cause. Not to mention being just downright bad for business, at the height of the Park’s tourist season.
